I’m trying to get more into cooking, but unfortunately it’s not a skill I was gifted with. It’s also not something I would call a hobby of mine, so in order for me to put some real effort into it, I have to be craving what I’m about to make, and that was no problem when I first laid eyes on this recipe. It doesn’t hurt that it is a pretty quick and easy recipe to make.
Here’s what you need:
24 oz. jar of tomato sauce (I used a tomato garlic sauce)
12 oz. penne
2 cups shredded chicken breast
1.5 cups shredded cheese
1/3 cups parmesan cheese (unfortunately I didn’t have this when I tried this recipe)
1/4 cup basil
Here’s how to make it:
Step 1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees
Step 2. Cook the penne according to instructions on the box. Drain when done.
Step 3. Put the pasta back in the pot, and add in the sauce and chicken. Mix until it’s all evenly combined.
Step 4. Pour half of the pasta into a casserole dish, then layer one cup of cheese and half of your basil on top.
Step 5. Pour the remaining pasta on top. Layer with remaining cheese and basil.
Step 6. Bake for 20-25 minutes in the oven.
Step 7. Remove and sprinkle on the parmesan cheese (if you haven’t forgotten it like I did!)
Step 8. ENJOY!
This should make enough for 4 people, and you will be left feeling very satisfied!
